Instagram Reels is the new feature that the social network has incorporated into its ever-growing list of available options. It's a copy of the TikTok format, already usable in the social network app for iOS and Android.

And although Reels are a nearly exact copy of TikTok, creating and sharing this type of content is not quite the same. In this guide, we explain how you can create and share your Instagram Reels.

Instagram Reels is Instagram's alternative to TikTok.

Create Reels without leaving Instagram, step by step

Creating your own Reels on Instagram is quite simple, and it doesn't differ too much from the way any other type of content supported by the social network would be created.

It should be borne in mind, of course, that at the time of publication of this article, the deployment of the Reels is still in progress, and it shouldn't surprise you that this feature isn't available on your mobile yet - it should arrive sooner as well as later.

That said, the process for create a Reel on your mobile is the following:

  1. Open Instagram and go to the camera section by swiping right from the app's main feed.
  2. In the menu carousel below, find the one called Reel.
  3. Choose a video from your gallery or hold the capture button to record a video clip.
  4. If the recording progress indicator reaches the end, you will start recording a new clip. Stop pressing the capture button to finish recording.
  5. Tap "Publish" to share the newly created reel. You can also save it as a draft, change the cover image, add text and hashtags, or tag friends.

This is the way simpler to create an Instagram Reel. Like TikTok, Instagram includes several creative features and tools with which to unleash our imagination to get to the top of the "Explore" section, where the most popular reels will appear.

Keep in mind, however, that you can share Reels in your stories, although like normal Stories, these will be deleted after 24 hours of their publication and will not be saved in your profile. Otherwise, the published reels will be accessible from separate roll board that will appear on your profile.
